Total Percentage

How to use

  1. Choose Marks to percentage or CGPA ↔ percentage.
  2. For marks, type marks got and full marks for each subject. Add more subjects if needed.
  3. Tick best of five if the form asks for it.
  4. For CGPA, choose your university formula and type the CGPA. The percentage appears at once.

How percentage is calculated

Percentage = total marks got ÷ total full marks × 100. For example, 412 out of 500 is 412 ÷ 500 × 100 = 82.4%.

Best of five

Many boards and colleges count only your best five subjects. This calculator picks the five subjects with the highest percentage and shows that figure separately. Some forms require English to be one of the five; check the admission notice.

CGPA to percentage formulas

  • CBSE class 10 (older marksheets): percentage = CGPA × 9.5.
  • MAKAUT / WBUT: percentage = (CGPA − 0.75) × 10. Example: 8.2 CGPA = 74.5%.
  • Many other universities: percentage = CGPA × 10. Your marksheet or university notice will say which one applies.

How do I convert CBSE CGPA to percentage?
